Following an interrogation by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Sheikh Shahjahan has been arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for his alleged non-cooperation during questioning. After a prolonged interrogation in jail, Shahjahan was taken into custody on the orders of the special ED court and presented in court on Monday evening. The ED's lawyer highlighted Shahjahan's lack of cooperation during interrogation, stressing the importance of presenting him in court to prevent potential escape attempts.
According to the ED, Shahjahan was questioned about various individuals and syndicates in Sandeshkhali, particularly regarding land encroachment activities, but failed to cooperate.During the court proceedings, the ED asserted that a syndicate formed by Shahjahan in Sandeshkhali had led to land encroachment issues, posing a threat to justice in the region.
